15.04 will not wake from suspend. debian on same computer works fine.

I have changed computers am now running gateway, amd dual core, 2g memory.
I have Debian 7 running from same HD it seems to work fine.
Where should I look to find the problem?
This has been going on since 14.04. In the past I reloaded Ubuntu. some time it would take several tries to get a good load.
