there is an additional mouse cursor in the centre of the screen, cannot be moved

there is a permanent mouse cursor placed in the middle of the screen, doesn't respond to the mouse and caanot be removed

it happens after the system went to sleep after inactivity, when I hit the tab to reactivate it is already there.
