upstart can not start in 15.04

In this version both upstart and systemd are supposed to run, upstart does not:
ea@vostro:~$ sudo start autonfs
[sudo] password for ea:
start: Unable to connect to Upstart: Failed to connect to socket /com/ubuntu/
would appreciate a work around or conversion from Upstart to systemd.
