7z outdated 9.20 (but declared stable) - at least a ppa possible?

Asked by Grizzly

9.20 behaves very unsatisfactory concering four- six- and eighcore cpus. 9.38beta self-compiled seems to fly compared to 9.20.
Is there any ppa with more recent 7z-tools for let's say 14.04 lts and 15.04?

There is a PPA with 9.38.1 for Ubuntu 12.04: https://launchpad.net/~ne3/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

I do not see any complicated dependencies, so probably that version is installable also on 14.04 and 15.04.
