No internet connection on ubuntu 15.04

Hi im testing Ubuntu 15.04 with my motherboard gigabyte. Everything is fine expect I cannot connect to the internet. It shows my two cards. But there both grayed out. This is a brand new computer. I am wanting to install Ubuntu 15.04 64bit. I have a amd cpu. I want to be able to install along side windows 7. Is there a way I can get Ubuntu to get the internet to work?

What WiFi chip do you use?

Does the system have a make and model?

I don't use any wifi. My computer is connected directly to eithernet motherboard plug. My system is custom built. Its from a company called Ibuypower.

Ok. Can you ping your router's internal IP?
Can you ping 8.8.8.8?
