Grub Failed to install during Ubuntu 14.o4 installation

Asked by Tejumola Mann

I have an acer laptop with factory installed windows 8.1 and I am trying to install Ubuntu on a seperate partition that i created. I have fastboot and secure boot disabled. UEFI is active.
Every time i try to insall Ubuntu from a live CD or USB i always get to the point GRUB fails to insall. Wireless connection is up and running and I can't seem to work around it.
Any help please? I'll be much grateful.
Thank you

Change your boot option to "Legacy secure boot off" and change the boot order to dvd/cd first. Make a dvd of the ubuntu installation file and then put that into the tray and reboot your computer. It should boot from the dvd and install grub. Afterwards, reset your boot option to UEFI and you should get the dual boot option.

You may be able to make the machine boot from the USB port which will work as long as you have a bootable image on the thumb drive.

Can you help with this problem?
