can I use a backup done with a 32b machine to a 64bit one

My old computer (9 years) has died, my new machine is a 64 bit. All my files were backed up with deja. can I restore them on a 64 bit with ubuntu 15.04 on it ?

Yes I'd say it was possible. The backup is data files, so the architecture of the OS is moot.
