i read the instruction on how to install that modem but it on version 6. 10 linux not i686 version

ok they say from ubuntu menu click on add and remove program but helloooooo they only show me add and remove software so where is the add and remove program menu at?? i hust brought the 7 inch eee pc trying to connect sprint 595u .i read the menu but it say work on 6 10 version
