admin password won't let me open software updates

Asked by Jerry Luce

after loaning my laptop, the guy set up an user account rather than logging in as guest. I see my password field has fewer characters than what it previously had. He also gave himself admin privleges and assigned an unknown password to it! Is there a way to reset my password, and delete his account?

Personally I would reinstall. You have no way of knowing what else the guy has done.
