ubuntu 14.02 lts never boots the same way and same number of screens

Asked by mickael

Hi there,

It is crazy, my ubuntu 14.02 LTS never starts the same way,,,,in a such a way, It seems it is teasing me on purpose lol.

I have a dual boot on 2 separate hard drives. At starting, it asks which OS we want to start.

Both of my hard drives are SSD. And I got 3 monitors with 2 ATI Radeon HD 5400 graphic cards and a MSI mother : Z68A-GD55 (G3) (MS-7681).

So my problem is that boot:
1st time - It start very well with 3 screens
2nd time - black screen..I reboot.
3rd times - just two screens
4th time - one screen
5th time - just command line

it randomly gives me one of these states. I tried to install the ATI drivers, but i got worse.

Can someone help me, I spent like 15 hours on this issue !!

My objectif is to have ubuntu running of my 3 screens every time.

Big thanks for your future help, at least i hope

I suggest you check the RAM health using Memtest86 from Grub as a good starting point

Can you help with this problem?
