Lost HDMI sound after reinstalling 14.04

The sound control in System Settings had an HDMI sound switch that could be highlighted in the" play sound through" window.

I had a problem with the Ubuntu 14.04 system so I reinstalled it.

After reinstalling the HDMI sound control was no longer there.

How do I get it back?

What is the output of:

wget -O alsa-info.sh http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh && chmod +x ./alsa-info.sh && ./alsa-info.sh --upload
