SD Card Reader not recognized

Asked by Arnett Carroll

I have installed Ubuntu Linux 14.04 on my Gateway NE56R41U laptop. It runs great except that now I cannot find my SD card reader in the device list in the file manager. Can you fix this?

I also have Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LT installed on a Dell Latitude D510. It has a Broadcom wifi card that is not recognized. The driver won't install. It's specs are:

Broadcom BCM94318MPG Rev 4
P/N 45556000152-11
S/N 06UT94362304
MAC: 001641C216F0

I also have a Dell Latitude C600 running Linux Lite 2.2 which seems to have a 3-Com Wi-fi card installed. The label isn't easy to figure out. The specs are:

3 Com
C/N 06F553-48361-16D-51AE
S/N HQTP4351AE
^B-0000-AO11-Rev A
Rev 3

The OS isn't recognizing this device either.

I'm sorry for the delay getting this answered. BTW why won't your Launchpad allow me to copy the output from Terminal into the Launchpad Message box?

It does. Just select the text and press CTRL + SHIFT + C

You can then paste to the browser.

This is normal.

Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS recognizes the SD card when it installs but can't find it afterward. What's up with that?
