Surface Pro wifi not working consistantly

Asked by Will Kavanagh

Hey - I installed Ubuntu 14.10 on my Surface Pro first generation. Everything seems to be working fine except for the wireless connection - which will work fine for some random (or so it seems) period of time and then disconnect and not be able to reconnect unless I restart the machine.

I have no idea how to go about fixing this - and I have searched and found similar issues but none that provide fixes that solve the problem

It has an IP. Can you ping 8.8.8.8?

I do not get a return when I ping 8.8.8.8 (doesnt matter if I can access the internet or not), however other IPs appear to work correctly duing the few minutes after a restart when I am able to connect.

will@will-Surface:~$ ping 8.8.8.8
PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data.

Then nothing else appears.
