Live Ubuntu freezes on load up due to wireless antenna being turned on

Asked by findes

I have a laptop running Windows. When I turn my wireless antenna on in Windows and then boot up a Ubuntu 14.04.1 amd 64 live system it freezes hard and becomes completely unresponsive. When I turn the wireless antenna off in Windows, I can load up Ubuntu without problems. I took a picture of the kernel panic error screen it showed when it froze. The bug is reproducible. Once Ubuntu is installed, it seems not to be affected by the wireless antenna anymore.

Is this a known bug? Should I file a bug report? I am new to this so I decided to ask before reporting. I could not find a bug report matching this bug.
