Ubunto on an HP MINI 1030nr

Asked by Bobby

I am attempting to install ubuntu-14.04.2-desktop-i386- on an HP mini 1030nr, I have created a bootable USB using "Linux Live USB Creator". The devise will boot from the USB stick and allow me to select what I want to do, So after clicking the install tab script begins running but the screen goes black and the install process seems to just stall.

Processor: Intel Atom CPU N270 @ 1.6 ghz.
Memory: 2048 mb

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never used Ubuntu before, I have followed all direction I can find on how to install this operating system by way of an USB devise, I have tried two different programs to make the bootable usb stick and have ended with the same issue, I have tried just running it to see if that would work and I have tried installing it. I have even tried loading it under windows XP and running it from the USB stick and I still have issues.

So when you say "try the boot option", I am assuming I have since I don't no of any other way I can try it. I have even downloaded the ISO file three different times to make sure it was not a corrupted download and have all ended with the same outcome. I can only assume that it's something I am doing as I have seen other people that have it running on this same system.

Can you help with this problem?
