After install Iptables on Ubuntu 10.04 cannot boot up

Hai,
i;m newbie using ubuntu
I have problem after install iptables on ubuntu 10.04 server

when i restart the server it just like hung
this some of error displayed

/dev/sdb1: clean, 50464/490560 files, 301233/1961930 blocks

init: network-interface (lo) post-stop process (487) terminated with status 1

i have tried to using an usb live cd,an correct the file in /etc/networking/interfaces
and still have same problem

can anyone help me

I suggest you wipe Lucid off and do a clean install of Trusty. Trusty is LTS and supported til April 2019. Lucid is no longer supported on the desktop and the server will soon be dead and gone.

Can you help with this problem?
