bluetooth mouse or ghost keypresses

Basically, on boot, the screen goes crazy switching rapidly between desktops as though I were pressing a key-combo down and not letting up. Or if I am able to open terminal, I often see that the font grows to max size as though I were pressing a key combo (ctrl+ + perhaps).

This has only happened with 14.10. I'm currently running Kubuntu on a Macbook 11,3 using the bluetooth mini-keyboard and the M$ bluetooth Sculpt mouse. Eventually, it stops but I'm unable to determine the root cause and am wondering if anyone else has had similar or the same problems. The askubuntu link above is the closest I've found so far.

If you turn off the mouse and keyboard and boot, is it the same?
