Installing Windows 8.1 ontop of Ubuntu 10.4.1 LTS

I installed Ubuntu 10.4.1 LTS. I used it but did not like ti, I recently bought Windows 8.1, however when I try to install it asks me about re-partitioning. As I am no computer expert I don't know what to do. Should I erase all mermory on the Hard Drive?
