Memory Stick with internal card reader on HP nx9420

Asked by Peter Magnusson

I have a HP nx9420 and it has a built in card reader for SD, MS, MS-Pro, MMC, SM and XD.
I have only got access to MS cards at the moment but it doesn't work that well.
The information I get from syslog / dmesg is the following when inserting and removing the card.
It doesn't matter for how log I have the card inserted, nothing happens anyway.

[17192911.376000] tifm_7xx1: ms card detected in socket 0
[17192916.792000] tifm_7xx1: demand removing card from socket 0

Using a external reader (witch I have) is a workaround but it doesn't solve the problem with the internal one.

I use a clean install 6.10 and dual-boots with windows XP and in windows it works fine.

Ok.. there is a problem with this. I'll just have to wait for a fix. It looks like there might not be any support for MemoryStick at all.
