Can't mount buffalo nas shares - ubuntu 14.04
I've recently rebuilt this laptop with ubuntu 14.04 (awesome btw). And everything is working *apart* from being able to mount my nas shares. My nas drive is called Buffalo and I can see it when Browsing the network. However if I try and connect to it as Anonymous from the GUI then it shows me the nas volume (array1), but not any of the shares. Very odd never seen that before. In that directory I can see array1/mtdaapd but no permissions to browse further.
My shares are set up to support both Windows and Apple sharing (as my wife has a macbook.
Shares are in the workgroup HOME and this is set in my samba config file. Browse using firefox to the nas's admin page on it's permanently loaned IP address on the network (192.168.1.107) and check configuration etc with no problems.
I have already successfully mounted my PVR's drive on this machine with no problems (fstab entry below):
//192.168.
And can see and play all the media therein.
I tried the following mount for one of the nas shares:
//192.168.
But no joy with that:
richard@
mount error(13): Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
The smbcredentials are for a guest login whch is all that should be required:
username=guest
password=
domain=HOME
So I tried smbtree and it fails with Conversion error: Incomplete multibyte sequence()
Not sure how to proceed. Any help appreciated. I've browsed a few similar threads but nothing quite the same. This is a brand new install. The shares are visible on other devices (my phone sitting right next to me for example).
Will post other info in a browser as I just had to type all that in as for some mad reason the launchpad app doesn't let me copy and paste into it! (I've just installed it...)
