Problem with Netflix-desktop

Asked by William Pabon

Hi:
Recently installed Netflix on my Ubuntu 14.04 (64bit) desktop. The installation ran without any major problem except that apparently, some files were not downloaded or installed. The one immediately noticed was that the desktop file didn't get the Netflix picture file. That, I solved myself. Apart from that, the application is running normally. The problem that I have is that on a regular basis I'm getting the following message: (see links below)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_ZOUN6JcLCXUkp0TFpYWDAzU3M/view?usp=sharing

If I click "Run this action now", I get the following:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_ZOUN6JcLCXZFhmQldCR3hfdVU/view?usp=sharing

It stays for a few seconds and then it closes. Don't know if it did anything. Now, what I do is click close in the first message an go on, but it is an annoyance. Is there a way to get rid of this message, will appreciate your advice. Thanks.

If you install Chrome browser you can use that.

Netflix Desktop is a seriously hacked version of Wine by a guy. It's far from perfect. OmgUbuntu has a guide. Netflix Desktop isn't needed now but if you want to use it then I suggest you contact the PPA maintainer to report the issue
