nvida will not release to xorg

Asked by Cliffm

loaded invida 331. worked with gnome but not unity.
reloaded Xorg, took several attempts.
logged out and started Ubuntu as default unity.
No indication unity loaded. My desktop loaded, NO dash.
right click brings up a small selection screen.
can not select Gnome at opening screen.

I am using Fedora live to place this request.
How do I get ubuntu to return?

Thanks Cliff
