USB Updateable Device Not Detected in VirtualBox
I'm trying to update my radar detector (Passport 9500ix) by using Escort Detector Tools in Oracle VirtualBox (v. 4.3.20) with Windows 7 32 bit guest and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit as host. The program runs, I have USB devices enabled (Windows picks up my webcam and my wireless mouse), and the detector shows that it is connected to USB. However, neither the guest nor host systems picks it up, and neither does Detector Tools.
Current user is added to vboxusers group, I've installed the addition to VirtualBox that allows USB devices to be used. Other USB devices show up in the guest, just not my detector.
Can anyone help with this?
