Ubuntu

It takes 5min to start is this normal?

I have a laptop with cetrino M 440 1.86 Ghz 2Gig ram 60gig hdd
I installed only ubuntu and made a partition of 20gig
but when I start my laptop it takes 5min to start it`s slower than when I boot whit the ubuntu boot cd
can someone help me pls

can you have a look at the output of dmesg -- this contains a timed log and should be able to let you see what is taking so long
