Unable to mount blank DVD-R disc Location is already mounted

Asked by John Wilson

Trying to make a startup disc but when I put in a blank disc I get the error message.
Have tried to reboot the computer but to no effect.
I am also not getting the dialogue asking me what to do when I insert a blank disc
How do I free up my CD drive?

Why do you want to mount a blank CD? There is nothing to read and no file system on it. There is nothing to mount.

If you want to make an install CD then open the ISO with your burning software and burn as slowly as possible.

Be sure to MD5 test the ISO you downloaded.

Wish I could do that but when I insert the DVD the CD drive states that the DVD only has 2kb of free space even though it is a brand new DVD
