No sound after wake up from suspend on Toshiba Satellite s50d-a.

Asked by Shane

Hello. Here is my alsa info: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=e98cd9bc59bbbc4aa75d24fcec5c6538c976fd20

I installed first, through UEFI, but there was no sound through the speaker jack or the sound bar, but the HDMI worked fine, so I had to re-install through CSM and everything was shiny until the session was suspended.

Here is the post from before I re-installe: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/259836

I think it might have to do with pulse loading before alsa, or vice verse.

I do not feel comfortable meddling with those scripts, should I just wait for this to be fixed upstream, or is there a simple, little risk of bunging everything up, work around?

Please tell me of any more info you might need.

Many thanks,

Shane

Try:

killall pulse audio

To resolve the issue. If it works then we can make it stick

Ah, well. It seems there is another problem now. Upon wake from suspend, the keyboard and touchpad are disabled. Twice in a row when I wake from suspend to try the command you suggested. Will try a third time after I save this comment.

Ok, the interface problem is by chance.

Your command doesn't work.

"pulse: no process found"
"audio: no process found"

When I get rid of the space, there is no output at all.

I put in a command I found to be somewhat helpful: dmesg | grep -i error

[ 5.083618] ACPI Error: [SSZE] Namespace lookup failure, AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20131115/dsfield-211)
[ 5.083627] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.AC0_._PSR] (Node ffff8802241ddc58), AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20131115/psparse-536)
