bad build options for pacakage portmidi

Asked by Cecilio Salmeron

The portmidi library that is distributed with Ubuntu is built with macro PM_CHECK_ERRORS defined. This macro is intended for debug builds and should not be defined in production builds as it interferes with normal error reporting. I've been discussing the issue with portmidi library maintainers. And they confirmt that "PM_CHECK_ERRORS is for debugging .... Since it is for debugging and developing simple apps, it should never be on in a system installation."

Could you transfer this issue to people at Ubuntu responsible for building the portmidi package?

Thank you.
