SDXC 64 GB card not recognized in 14.10 was recognized in 14.04

My SDXC 64 GB card was recognized in 14.04
I upgraded to 14.10 and now it is not recognized. I plug it in using either my camera, or remove it from my camera and use a reader, and either way, the card is not recognized. It is as if it does not exist. No error message, just nothing.

All the Repositories are Enabled.
Everything was updated using: sudo apt-get update

Doing some research I read and tried installing: exfat-utils
The card is still not recognized

I thought maybe it was the size. So I plugged in an external 2 TB HD using the same USB port I had been using to try and read the 64GB DCXC card, The system immediately recognized and mounted the external hd.

It is not a hardware issue.

In researching, I have seen this problem cropping up in a variety of distributions.
