trouble shoot dell 530 19" monitorubuntu 14.04

When on certain web pages the images over ride lines of text. Also, there are lines thru text that cover up the text. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks

The only browser I have ever used is Firefox. Current version 34

Chrome installed easy and imported all my settings from Firefox. Need to learn and to tweak but it has resolved monitor problem
