Permission denied - live cd won't boot

Asked by Pancho

Hello,

I have a HP T749.FI PC and I am having problems to boot from the live cd... I mean the live cd tries to but then suddenly it stops and after a while comes a dark screen with the text "Permission denied"...

Some times I get the message:
ACPI: Unable to turn cooling device [de4e4f18] 'on'

I have burnt already 10 cds... same brand. They work in other pcs, but not at all in the HP. What goes wrong?

Well if the discs work on other machines but not the HP. Then I would expect the HP computer to be what is causing the errors and not the discs. Suprised me that the integrity check failed on the HP but not other machines (if I understand you correctly).

I suppose it could be a dodgy disc drive? and thats why the CD fails the checks. Or it could simply be something weird about the hardware in the HP.

Sorry I cant be of much more help atm :P

Can you help with this problem?
