How do I change the time in weather applet?

Asked by Randy LeJeune

After updating Hardy, I have found that a weather applet was added to my clock. The problem is that the temperature seems to be reflecting that of the Time Zone I chose . . . Rainy River instead of where I actually live. It says now that the temperature here is 12 F. In Lousiaiana it never really gets this cold. the problem is that I click on the applet and I see no means of altering this or disabling it. This has been reported as a bug already by someone else but the bug report was closed due to lack of information.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello,

Do you mean the weather applet for the panels? If so, for 7.10 Ubuntu it's rightclick into the applet, then options and there you can choose the place you want the weather information from. Might also work for Hardy.

Greetings

Hi Randy,

Are you trying to setup the weather applet or the timer applet (In Hardy, the system timer can display the weather too)? If you really talking about the weather applet, right click on it, click on preferences, then click on location or something like that (my interface is in Brazilian Portuguese).

If your are talking about the timer applet, double click on it, then click on Locations (or something like that, again) and finally click on the edit button. Now you can add or change the locations that you are interested in.

Cheers,

Helton

When I right click on the weather applet, I get a dialog box that allows me to adjust the date and time, but not the weather. the Date/Time applet and the weather applet look like they are together on my PC . . . when I click on weather or time, I get the same dialog.

Randy,

Could you please take screenshots of these applets and put them here?

I have some at the bug report here:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/198572

They fixed it. Thanks, though.
