Help with Booting Ubuntu

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Motherboard GA-Ga41M- Combo
Bios PnP 1.0a, DMI 2.0, SM BIOS 2.4, ACPI 1.0b

My main HDD with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS previous on booting it stop with grub screen counting seconds, now it stopped I cont boot Ubuntu.
On investigation found on motherboard HDD connections only 1 channel is working.
With another HDD with Kubuntu I am writing this.
Can you help me, to boot Ubuntu.

If you hold shift and select an older kernel, does it boot ok?

Tried the Right and Left Shift key but grub is stuck.

Have you ran an fsck on the drive? You can do it from liveCD.
