Hello

This link may provide you some info:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Antivirus

But.. You don't need a virus scanner unless you want to protect windows machines in your network.

Refer this link for more info:

Hope it helps

Bhavani Shankar.

Ubuntu does not need anti-virus or anti-spyware software unless you are running a file server with Windows clients. All web data is stored in a subdirectory of the user's home directory called .mozilla and cannot do any real harm.

Even a downloaded script cannot do any harm unless it is marked as executable and even then it would not have write permission anywhere other than user space.

2+ years on Ubuntu. 2+ years no AV. 2+ years no problems. Conclusion: don't worry about it. This isn't windows.
