printer problem after 14.10 upgrade

Asked by david

Hi,
I have a HP Officejet 6600 wireless all-in-one.
Worked perfectly until I upgraded to ubuntu 14.10 - now I've tried a couple of things including "hp setup", "hplip", "discover printer" etc. but I keep being told there's a problem with CUPS. Either a dependency is missing or "cannot connect to CUPS server".
Would someone very kindly try to help me out here & please note I am quite dumb!!!
(Often miss the obvious!)

Thnaks so much in advance,
david

The command just outputs useful information. It didn't change anything in the system but if it's working, who cares.
