Why do I get crash message after closing and reopening Chrome?

Asked by Wise Melon

When I close Chrome normally by just clicking the little red "x" button. And Chrome has not crashed or anything, and then when I open Chrome again I get a crash report error. But it didn't crash, I closed it!

The error reads: "The application Google Chrome has closed unexpectedly".

You could close the browser then rename the browser's cache folder as well as it's configuration folder then rerun. You will get a vanilla setup but if the browser then works as expected then we know that there is something in the old settings that is causing the issue. If the browser behaves the same then please report a bug.

Thanks

Thank you for your advise, as am a bit new to Ubuntu and its file system, is this the location for the Chrome configurations folder, and if so, which folder would I change the name of: ~/.config/google-chrome/Default ? Do I change the name of the folder currently called "Default", or?
And where do I find the cache folder?

Also, once I have found the folders, should I just re-name them to something random, or something specific?

Thanks!

Oh, it is fine, I figured it all out.

There must have been something wrong with the old configuration as I did not get the crash report thing once I have renamed the folders, and had then started Chrome.
