can't play dvd's on 14.10

Since upgrading to 14.10 dvds will no longer play on vlc, banshee or rhythumbox. Any advice plrase //+

Please run the following Terminal commands:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras libdvdread4

sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

Then reboot and retest vlc player.
