Ubuntu can't connect to the net.

Asked by Riverrun

Can only connect to the net for a few moments. My other computers are working normally but Ubuntu tells me via: sudo ifdown that ''interface eth0 is not configured and I am still too new to gutsy to work it out. Can anyone help? I haven' t a clue how to approach this or even where to begin.
