About CD defects

What is the result it shows when we run "check for CD defects" from Ubuntu 6.10 Live CD when CD has no defects. When i run that i got the result as "0 md5sum failed". What does it mean? What message it shows when CD has no defects? can anybody help!!

Heh. Yes, this message is somewhat cryptic.

md5sum is the program that is used to "check" the CD for defects. If it says "0 md5sum failed" then it means that there were no ("0" / zero) failures, which means there was success. That's a good thing! :)

So, your CD is fine.
