Sticky cursor in XFCE

Asked by Tommy Pollák

When the displays of XFCE have been fully initiliazed there is a picture of an arrow cursor on the mouse in the middle of the displays. This arrow stays on top of every window.
How can I avoid this, not very serious but irritating.
Ubuntu 14.10, XFCE 4.10 on a Dell XPS 502

Try using the guide on OMGUbuntu to install the Intel video driver, may help.

Also test RAM using Memtest86 from Grub

I installed the Intel Graphics Installer for Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit). Simple.
Then I started it:
Checking ... OK
Retrieving ... OK
Checking distribution - Distribution not supported

So I am stuck.

A change of the driver for GF108M (GeForce GT 540M) from X.Org X server to NVIDIA binary driver version 331.89 from nvidia-331 solved the problem.
However I am not sure that this does not introduce other problems.
