Are you sure it is a Canon Pixma MG2924?

I can't see it in the list.

It seems that there is a common driver from canon for the "MG 2900 series"
I recommend you try the drivers that you can download for the MG2940 from the link given by actionparsnip.
Download and install the printer and scanner drivers in "debian packagearchive" format
