found but .... it is for ubuntu 12.04.
the site makes ref to - bug 991130; I linked it to this ticket. the bug has been filed in april 2012 and shows as 'confirmed'.

I'm fully aware that changes occured since and the solution proposed for ubuntu 12.04 may not be appliccable to trusty 14.04.
ex - package libdigest-sha1-perl does not exist any longer and, maybe, other changes re udev.rules scripts may have been implemented.

could any one in the kernel dev department check the the scrips for 12.04 if good/valid in trusty 14.04 please?.

now there is a problem with the frontend - kaffeine app
- it scans and finds the channels as expected, it tunes ok but ... the display is full of lines; it appears as a synchronization problem - screen-app settings sync maybe; I do not know yet. does anyone has better knowledge/understanding of inner works/options of kaffeine? or is there a better app available? how is myth tv performing? last time I wasn't a happy camper with it; maybe I'll give another try and report back.
