Acer Aspire E15 E5-551G-T7GR installer crash 14.10
On my new Acer E5-551G-T7GR is the installer crashing. The Device have a AMD A10-7300 Quadcore CPU and a Radeon R7 M265 Graphics Card with 2Gb dedicated VRAM. Installed RAM is (factory default) 8GB.
Tested with x86 and 64bit (AMD) Image. Ubuntu 14.04 (x86) is succesfull running on the Device, without the new Synaptics Clickpad. On 14.10 alpha the Clickpad is running....
Installation: from a USB Stick, to prepare the installation, i am using UNETBOOTIN. The Same Stick i have used for a another computer to install. The Os for Unetbootin is Ubuntu 14.04 on a Aspire 1535.
If i am booting the new Acer, the Unetbootin screen comes - if iam using default or a another point- the same- after two screens of messages- a crash. I have a photo from the last crashsreen with "cryptic" messages.
You need more or another information, please contact me, the Acer Laptop is unused and we can do experiments with him...
Thank You
David

Ubtuntu 14.10 is still Beta. If you have problems, please report them as a bug. Thanks!
If you need an OS that works, use Trysty. Trusty is also LTS and supported til April 2019. Utopic is only supported 9 months after release next month.

I have written that in TRUSTY the new generation Clickpad fom Synaptics not work. Kernel 3.16 is required. Only the Installer have a Bug- i have the Problem Solved:
1. installing Trusty and update
2. changing the "sources.list" to Utopic and update (errormessages....)
3. install the 3.16 (utopic) Kernel
4 restart and update ... it runs. On start the Acer Laptop comes a little errormessage:
"Firmware Bug CPU0, invalid threshold interrupt offset 0 for bank 4 block 1 (MSRC0000408=
"Firmware Bug CPU1 try to use APIC500 (LVT offset0) for vector 0x10400,but the register is already in use for vector 0xf9 on another cpu""Firmware Bug cpu 1, IBS interrupt offset 0 not available (MSRC 001103A=
i don't think this is a firmware Bug- the AMD A10-7300 CPU is very Young - the Radeon Graphics is shown "R6" in real it is "R7", The CPU is (i think) not full supportet...
The System (Utopic) runs stable and all Komponents are working under Utopic.

I advise you to use 14.04.2, trusty with utopic hardware enablement, 3.16 kernel and new graphics. I have it on my Acer Aspire E5-551G-T0KC and everything is working fine. I also installed the latest amd64-microcode package from wily.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask Wolf Jäger for more information if necessary.
