Problems with Handbrake

Asked by wordsmyth2

I have just installed Handbrake, but am frustrated that the format is fixed at MKV and can't b e changed. Online articles have shown one has a choice here, but perhaps this doesn't apply to the Ubuntu version? Problem being that while MKV files can be viewed on my computer, they can't be burned to disk.

Plase make sure you are using the PPA from https://launchpad.net/~stebbins/+archive/ubuntu/handbrake-snapshots .
The other PPA with release version contains a bug with the effect you are describing.

devede works fine, but another respondent mentioned that there is a bug in handbrake that prevents the user selecting any format other than MKV. I hope this can be fixed in the near future. But it would be more convenient to have a SIMPLE and efficient program like the no-longer available K9...
