I have two dvd drives, and i'm running ubuntu 14.04. How do I eject only one of the drives

I have two dvd drives, and i'm running ubuntu 14.04. How do I eject only one of the drives. One is dvd reader and other one is writer. sr1 is reader and it will not let me eject by pressing eject button on the drive it self. I have to restart computer to use it once - eject button works. what am I doing wrong? my machine is sony vio vgc-rb34g.

Under linux a CD/DVD drive will not eject as long as the medium inside is still mounted. You have to unmount it first.
This works by clicking the button next to it on th eleft side in nautilus, right-clicking the drive in the starter of with the "umount" command in the Terminal.
