Linux keyboard equivalent of 'kill -CONTINUE process-name'

Asked by Julianloui

I use 'kill -STOP process-name' to suspend a process in a Linux script and would like to know if there is a way to create a keyboard equivalent of 'kill -CONTINUE proces-name' as a convenient way to resume the process in a start-and-stop audio-and-image script.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can assign shortcuts in ccsm to run commands.

Andrew,

Thanks.

I've just installed Compiz and other associated packges for Linux Mint 17 successfully. But when I issue 'compiz --replace' or 'compiz --replace &', Linux just seems to wait on and on after it displays a few ccsm-related lines. Could this be a Mint17-particular problem?

Mint is not supported by the Ubuntu community. It has it's own support channels which are entirely separate from Ubuntu. I suggest you post here

Can you help with this problem?
