when selecting the Amazon icon it freezes the computer

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 when the Amazon icon is selceted the computer locks up.
The mouse moves.
Can not shut down the computer from the desktop.
Must push the reset button or the off button on the computer.

Do you use the Amazon functionality, if not then we can remove the feature and the issue may subside.

Not really, I usually use Firefox search bar, with no problems.
I can unlock it from the launcher.
Just thought there might be a problem with system.

Then run:

sudo apt-get --purge remove unity-lens-shopping
sudo apt-get --purge autoremove

Will remove it, log off and log on. Is the OS more stable?

the icon is still there, and acts the same.
results of purge

sudo apt-get --purge remove unity-lens-shopping
