Slow Page Loading

Asked by Gary Hall

It is not a problem unique to this distro. The same happens with SUSE, Mandrake, and Linspire. The last few versions of Linux I have tried take longer to retreive a web page. When I enter an address or click on a link the status bar will say looking up whatever site and remain doing so much longer than with Windows. After several seconds it will access the site and eventually open the page. I have a cable connection with Charter Communications using DHCP. When I do enter an address in Windows it is retreived much quicker. I'm anxious to get away from Windows and the sooner I can find out to fix this problem the better. If there are any more questions that I can answer I will be happy to do so.

Any help is appreciated.

Have a look at this, I think that's the same problem.
