Hello garnett

In /etc/hosts file (In a terminal (applications -> accessories -> terminal) ) type the following command

sudo gedit /etc/hosts

and add the following lines into it..

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain

and save the file..

and cups should be working..
