how do i open the bios at the boot screen on a toshiba

how do i open the bios at the boot screen on my toshiba i am trying to open the bios screen so i can change to read the cd rom insted of the hard soooooooo can anyone please help me i am new to linex

that did not work if it help i have a toshiba satellite505-s504 can some one please help me get in to bios so i can tell it to read the cd rom insted of the hard drive

Try ESC then F1, and see if that gets you in there. The Legacy Free versions havee no BIOS options to change. All settings and resources must be assigned by the OS. The only bios access is through an applet that will only run in Windows XP. To boot from the CD try this though:

1. Power on
2. Press F12
3. With the right arrow key choose CD
4. Enter
