What Windows does is of zero consequence to Ubuntu. It is a completely different OS with completely different support.

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | egrep 'flash|gnash|swf|spark'

What browsers have you tried?

Please make sure you are using the most recent version of Chrome (not Chromium)!

I have now downloaded Chrome (instead of chromium) and this seems to have done the trick.

Many thanks!!!
